Summer Clef™
What is it?
Summer Clef™ is an exciting summer program for young musicians to learn to play in a group setting with other musicians—composing, rehearsing and
performing their own music.
How does it work?
We set up the bands based on age, skill level and music preference.
You work with your band for two weeks, arranging and performing an original song of the style
you choose.
Your band rehearses every weekday for two weeks with an instructor guiding you.
On Sunday, June 27, at noon, you perform your song in front of family and friends while we record
it and put it on CD for you!
Who can participate?
Open enrollment allows any musician, eight years or older, to sign up and participate in the program.
When is it?
From June 14–25, “bands” will meet Monday through Friday in half-hour sessions. Group 1 participants will meet for half-hour blocks between 10:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m. Group 2 participants will meet for half-hour blocks between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. You must be availalbe every day for the two weeks of rehearsals.
How much does it cost?
The total cost is $140, due at time of sign-up, and
includes all rehearsals, your performance at the venue, a CD with the entire concert and a tee shirt with your band name on it.
How can I sign-up?
Download the PDF registration form and return it to our service desk by May 28, 2010. Classes will fill up quickly, so don't wait. Summer is just around the corner!
